Prostate cancer is the third most common cancer among men in Hong Kong, accounting for 13.9% of the total new cases of male cancer. Prostate cancer is a malignant tumour of the prostate. Men with a high risk of prostate cancer due to a family history of the disease or those experiencing symptoms should pay attention to changes in their bodies, especially abnormalities related to prostate health.

Urinary Tract Reconstruction is a series of surgical procedures to repair or reconstruct damaged parts of the urinary system, including the kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra. These surgeries are typically applicable to injuries or functional impairments of the urinary tract caused by various reasons such as trauma, disease, congenital anomalies, or post-cancer treatments.

Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP) is a minimally invasive surgery used to treat obstructive benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), resulting in moderate to severe lower urinary tract symptoms. This procedure utilizes a holmium laser to remove enlarged prostate tissue precisely and is performed through the urethra, eliminating the need for external incisions. Its short- to medium-term efficacy is comparable to open resection surgery but with higher safety.
