CUHKMC and HEAL New Frontier Collaboration (MoU) Signing Ceremony

Heal Medical Group (New Frontier Group) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation with the Chinese University of Hong Kong Medical Centre (CUHK Hospital) for the purpose of providing higher-quality medical services to the people of Hong Kong and Greater Bay Area. Mr. Antony Leung, Founder and Chairman of New Frontier Group, and Dr. Hong Fung, Chief Executive Officer of CUHK Medical Centre, were present in the signing ceremony. 

Heal Medical Group is a subsidiary of New Frontier Group, consisting of Heal Medical Center, Heal Oncology Centre, and Heal Aesthetic Centre. Collectively, Heal strives to practice empathy and provide first-rate care to patients and their loved ones in a welcoming environment. 

This collaboration is grounded in the shared commitment between Heal Medical Group and CUHK Hospital to provide high-quality, patient-centric medical services to patients. The hope is to leverage synergies through shared resources and expertise to enable better healthcare across the board. 

Mr. Antony Leung, Founder and Chairman of New Frontier Group, said, "This cooperation marks an important milestone for Heal Medical Group. We are combining the medical resources of CUHK Hospital and New Frontier Group to better serve the citizens of Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area with more comprehensive medical services. 

Dr. Hong Fung, Chief Executive Officer of CUHK Hospital, said, "In addition to offering a more widespread selection of medical services, this collaboration will make the services of CUHK Hospital and CUHK Medical Center more accessible to Hong Kong Island residents; for now, the shared synergies, advantages, and resources of both parties will allow us to provide high-quality medical services to the people of Hong Kong; in the future, there will be opportunities to expand such services to the Greater Bay Area to benefit even more patients.”  

At present, both parties have begun sharing medical resources, with The CUHK Medical Center ready to arrange for specialists to be stationed out of Heal Medical Center. 

Heal Medical and The CUHK Medical Center@Central will have clinical specialists and medical professionals covering 16 specialties, including: Clinical Oncology, Colorectal Surgery, Breast Surgery, Urology, Gastroenterology, Gastrointestinal Surgery, Cardiothoracic Pulmonary Surgery, ENT, Family Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine Services, Plastic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Pediatric surgery, Public Health, and Primary Care. The interdisciplinary expertise on offer will ensure that all individualized needs of patients are met. 

Residents of the Greater Bay Area will be to utilize the medical expertise of Heal Medical Group and CUHK Hospital, coupled with the benefits of CEPA and other Greater Bay Area policies, in addition to the Hong Kong Macau Drug and Medical Equipment Scheme. 

This cooperation brings together specialists and medical staff from different disciplines to create multi-disciplinary teams (MDT), which will provide collaboration opportunities to make multi-faceted diagnostics and to formulate the best possible treatment plans for patients. 

New Frontier Health’s operational efficiency and management quality will further strengthen as a result of this cooperation. Naturally, this opportunity will involve the integration of Heal Medical Group and other New Frontier Health subsidiaries’ professional knowledge, resources, and application of drugs and medical equipment in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area. This experience will lay a solid foundation for promoting the development of cross-border treatment in the near future.

Thanks to Heal Medical Group, New Frontier’s flagship Greater Bay Area hospital, Shenzhen New Frontier United Family Hospital, currently has a team of experienced Hong Kong-based doctors to lean on for support. The flagship hospital will also leverage the Hong Kong Macau Drug and Medical Equipment Scheme to introduce Hong Kong approved drugs into the mainland market. Ultimately, the goal is to create opportunities for medical development in the Greater Bay Area, and eventually provide high-end, private medical services for residents of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and the Greater Bay Area.
